Bill Granger, a cookbook author, restaurateur and TV presenter, was born in Melbourne, Australia. He moved to Sydney as an art student and started working in hospitality.
'Not being a trained chef I've gained my knowledge from eating, reading and experiencing food,' says Granger. At 22 Granger opened his first restaurant, bills. After the success of bills, bills 2 opened in 1996. Both are now established landmarks of casual dining in Sydney.
Following the success of his two restaurants, Bill was approached by Murdoch Books to publish a book that captured the essence of his landmark eateries. bills sydney food was published in 2000. Since then Granger has published a number of books, opened additional restaurants and presented several TV series. Granger's books have been translated into a number of languages.
Bill lives in Sydney with his partner Natalie Elliot and his daughters.
