One of Melbourne’s quiet & truly beautiful food heroes is Kathy Tsaples the cook, author & force of nature behind Sweet Greek, one of the best food stores at the Prahran Market in South Yarra and one of our favourite destinations south of the Yarra.
After a life changing illness several years ago, Kathy realised her dream to open a small shop cooking and serving delicious, authentic traditional Greek food; the food she grew up on – not just dips and souvlaki – but the food of life – from her heart. From the day Sweet Greek opened it feed and nurtured everyone who came in with food cooked from love.

Several years ago Kathy wrote her first book Sweet Greek, which we loved. Her new book Sweet Greek Life is even better!
Part memoir, part life recipe and all delicious – this book will open your eyes and your heart to Greek inspired food that is simple, pragmatic & achievable, whilst being completely delicious.
Importantly, this is not Greek Taverna food as you might now it but contemporary, delicious homely food made with care & love.
We are already salivating over Kathy’s Baked Feta Parcels with Thyme-Infused Honey, Red Cabbage & Pearl Barley Salad, Methismena (walnut-filled biscuits) and her Celebration Cake with Olive oil Ganache (see the cover photo) and we think you will too. And that’s just for starters!
