Author
Hannah Glasse (born 1708; died 1780) was one of the most popular of 18th century cookery writers. Mother to eight children, Glasse was one of the first female writers to make a living from writing and was also one of the first to be plagiarised. As her books were originally authored by 'a Lady' her place in the English culinary canon was not recognised until the early 20th century.
