| Julie Jansen is a home economist, cook, caterer and cafe owner. She began her career as a writer for the Nine Network's What's Cooking, and has since worked as a recipe writer and food stylist for House & Garden, Super Food Ideas and Australian Good Taste magazines, and created recipes for Coles and Dairy Australia. Working at Notting Hill's renowned Books for Cooks in London, Julie was fortunate to meet and cook with inspirational authors such as Donna Hay,
Nigella Lawson and Peter Gordon. Julie's first cafe venture, The Cook Book Kitchen, a cafe and cookbook store in Surrey Hills, featured food prepared from the cookbooks for sale in-store.
Since then, Julie and her husband Marinus created Appetite Catering and Appetite Foodstore, both showcasing Julie's vibrant cafe food. Julie's muffins and biscuits continue to serve food-loving locals in their more recent Padre Coffee cafe ventures The Brunswick East Project, Padre Coffee South Melbourne Market and The League of Honest Coffee. |
