| Alex Mackay combines a love of food with a passion for teaching. At the age of nineteen he left his native New Zealand for France where he worked in three Michelin-starred kitchens in Courchevel, Beaune & Tours. He visited Provence at every opportunity. In 1992, Alex moved to Britain to become the sous-chef at Raymond Blanc's world-famous Le Manoir aux Quat' Saisons near Oxford. He subsequently became the director of Le Manoir's cookery school. In 1999 he opened a cookery school in Provence which was in 2004 recognised as one of the top 10 cookery schools in the world. Since 2004 he has appeared on TV and at numerous events. |
