Dinner – Japan: the cookbook by Nancy Singleton Hachisu

Japan: the cookbook

Japan: the cookbook

Over the last eight years, we’ve loved partnering with our friends at Pope Joan  hosting some great book launches and dinners.

Sadly, Matt Wilkinson has announced his ‘Final Countdown’ and Pope Joan will be closing its doors on 24 June.

But to go out with a bang… we have perhaps one of the greatest of all dinners of all time to finish with…

Published to great acclaim – the latest book from Nancy Singleton Hachisu and Phaidon;  Japan: the cookbook has been an instant success.

We rate it as one of the best Japanese cookbooks we’ve ever stocked (including Nancy’s other best-selling books Japanese Farm Food and Preserving the Japanese Way).

If you are interested in Japanese food and don’t know Nancy…  you should!

Nancy Singleton Hachisu lives on a farm in Japan with her family, and is a James Beard Award-nominated author of two cookbooks: Japanese Farm Food and Preserving the Japanese Way.  Nancy has a long association with Slow Food, preserving traditional food ways and organic food production,  Nancy also teaches traditional japanese cooking.  Her work has appeared in Food & Wine, Saveur, The Art of Eating, and Lucky Peach.  A native Californian, she has resided in Japan for thirty years, and is widely respected as an authority on Japanese cooking, both in Japan and the United States.

Join Nancy, Matt and the Pope Joan family for a  four course epic feast – a Japanese extravaganza!

Think sake on arrival, soy pickled wasabi topschicken nuggets (yes, that’s right), yakitori bits ‘n’ bobspork and napa cabbage, and garlic rice.  To  finish, steamed apple and sweet potato with soy ice cream, plus heaps more.
