London, UK: O'Brien Thomas & Co, 1923. O'Brien Thomas & Co (ed). Fireplaces, Cooking Apparatus & Domestic Hot Water Installations: No 45 Catalogue. O'Brien Thomas & Co: London, UK 1923. 8vo sm HC Black Gilt stamped Cloth vi,176,[2]pp. VG/- account terms laid in Catalogue No 45 Boards lightly faded with light shelf-wear, gilt lettering faded, page edges lightly aged, else fine. A fine copy of a heavily illustrated trade catalogue in the less common cloth binding. O'Brien Thomas & Co was a British wholesale iron-mongering firm based in London supplying builders and selling fireplaces, grates, mantels, stoves, kitchen ranges, water heaters, coal heaters, kettles and many other household items. They also manufactured/sold bicycles, lawnmowers, commercial cooking apparatus, sanitary ware, household ironmongery and associated builders' sundries. Their catalogues were designed for merchant builders to show to clients to select their stoves and fires and household fittings. The fittings range from the very simple to the extremely 'fancy'. The catalogue also includes heating output specifications for a number of models. A useful reference to understanding the scale, features and designs of late Victorian, Edwardian and Art-Nouveau stoves, ranges and kitchen equipment when considering cookbooks of the same period. Not in OCLC; OCLC records only three other catalogues by O'Brien Thomas & Co of various dates held.
