In 1901 William Ukers founded the Tea & Coffee Trade Journal; an industry journal that continues today to be one of the touchstone references for the Tea and Coffee industries. Devoting his life to the tea and coffee trade, Ukers wrote several definitive and exhaustive technical works on the trade including 'All about Coffee' and 'All about Tea'. In 1937 he wrote, in a more popular vein, 'The Romance of Tea' to appeal to both the trade and the domestic consumer of tea. This is the posthumously published companion volume, 'The Romance of Coffee'. In addition to the technical and business aspects of the coffee trade, Ukers included chapters devoted to 'Coffee Manners and Customs', 'Coffee and the Fine Arts' and 'The Coffee Hour' which discusses the health aspects of coffee as well as the proper methods for making coffee. A very good copy.
