Covelo [California] : The Yolla Bolly Press, 1990. First, limited edition No. 157 of 190 in sewn wrappers from a total print run of 255 copies. The third issue in the press's Storyteller Series and the twelfth book published by the press.

Octavo (255x185mm) block printed stiff card wrappers and light card boards, letterpress, in card slipcase, [12],104,[4]pp.

¶ In the 1950s Fisher took her two daughters to Aix-en-Provence for a year's schooling. The six semi-autobiographical stories/fables were written for the amusement of her daughters whilst they were living there. A delightful tale of a stray dog befriended by Fisher's daughters during their year in France.

The Yolla Bolly Press was established in 1974 by book artists Carol and James Robertson. Based in Covelo, a small town in Northern California, the Press, now closed, produced a small number of highly regarded, fine press, limited editions of works touching often on nature, literature and California using traditional letterpress techniques.

One of Fisher's last published works¹. A fine copy.
