…are new unless stated otherwise. If the condition of an item is described, it is antiquarian, vintage, or second-hand.
We use our best endeavours to carefully and accurately describe the condition of the [book]/[dust jacket].
All hard cover dust jackets are protected with archival PVC bookfilm.
The condition of our second-hand, vintage and antiquarian cookbooks is described as [book]/[dust jacket] using the following terms:
As New – as published.
Fine – in almost new condition with no defects or markings & only imperceptible signs of wear.
Very Good (VG) +/- – there are some small/minor signs of age or use but the book is structurally intact; small defects may have been repaired. In most cases the defects or signs of use will be imperceptible
Good (G) +/- – the effects of age & use are immediately noticeable.
Fair – complete & acceptable as a functional kitchen/reading copy but with marked signs of age & wear. Not collectable

We can also order in new books published in English easily If they are not listed please contact us.
Many of our books are in limited quantities & are listed subject to prior sale in store. Price & stock availability details included in our website are provided in good faith & are indicative only.
We do provide exchanges & refunds...
...in certain circumstances. A book which is defective or not as described may be returned for full exchange or refund within a reasonable time. Refunds will only be issued by the original payment method.
Purchases may, at our sole discretion, be exchanged in store or returned for a credit note if they are returned in original condition & with proof of purchase.
Requests for exchange or credit should be made promptly and within a reasonable time.
We do not issue refunds if you have changed your mind.
Insurance & postage…
All books are securely & protectively wrapped & boxed before being posted. We don't use 'jiffy' bags. All parcels are sent tracked and insured. Our postal charges include standard insurance. High value items may require additional insurance; an additional charge.
Australian deliveries are sent tracked and insured using Australia Post eParcel. This is a signature on delivery service. You can waive the signature requirement and ask us to instruct Australia Post to 'safe drop' your parcel. If you do so, delivery will be tracked but at your risk.
Currently we charge a flat rate of $9.95 for Victorian deliveries and $14.95 for deliveries of up to 20kg to all other Australian states; a significant discount to standard Australia Post Rates.
Postage overseas is by Australia Post EMC Air Courier, tracked and insured at cost. We receive significant discounts on standard Australia Post international charges and we pass these on to you.
Currency, taxes & customs charges…
Our prices are net in Australian dollars, inclusive of all Australian taxes. If you are posting to a destination outside of Australia, you are responsible for all taxes and import charges raised by that destination
