Circular (190mm diameter) red and cream printed card two-disc volvelle with recipes for 27 classic cocktails. Card lightly soiled & age-toned.
Cocktails include the Amber Dream (a variant excluding vermouth and possibly the first mention of the cocktail¹) A Side Car, The Flying Scotsman, and the aptly named Depression Pick-up.
The Hotel Hayes was a grand 10-storey, 200 room hotel at 228 West Michigan Avenue, Jackson in the centre of Michigan. The hotel opened in November 1926 and featured a grand ballroom, dining room, dance hall and conference rooms as well as the popular Drum Room bar and lounge. The Hotel was a popular venue for touring big bands and musicians and was a popular 'G.I' venue during WWII.
Scarce. An excellent and very early post-prohibition² cocktail volvelle.
