¶ The second of a series of bulletins prepared by the Commonwealth Government in 1946, originally compiled to assess the suitability of the horticultural and viticultural industries for soldier war service settlement programs, and published as a preliminary report for producers on the welfare of the sectors. Production statistics, export markets, sales and consumption projections into the 1950s are provided in detail.
An intriguing analysis of the state of and outlook for the wine industry (particularly when compared with other food production) just as the Australian wine industry reached its nadir.
